Flying to Berlin with Easyjet costs from 89 euros round trip if booked in advance (both from Madrid and Barcelona). Lufthansa offers direct flights from Barcelona for 99 euros (round trip). Iberia, which has closed the route from Madrid, offers flights from Barcelona starting at 125 euros.

Not all those who go to the Berlin Philharmonic are wealthy people who happily cough up 220 euros to sit in the best seats. There are humble music lovers who pay only seven euros to see the concerts standing and are looking forward to Tuesday, as if it were Sunday, because on that day, at 13.00, members of the Philharmonic and other orchestras of the city play in the foyer at no cost to attendees. They are called Lunchtime Concerts, or lunchtime concerts, but you have to arrive so early to get a seat (minimum 45 minutes), that they are more like lunchtime concerts. So as not to raise a red flag, the program is announced a few days in advance at www.berliner-philharmoniker.de. These informal concerts are also an excellent opportunity to admire the Philharmonie building, designed by Hans Scharoun (1893-1972), one of the greatest exponents of European organic architecture.
