The Medieval Market is one of the most massive cultural events held in Vitoria-Gasteiz. During the last weekend of September, the streets and squares of the Medieval Town are transformed to recreate a time in which Vitoria was the crossroad between the north and the south.

El mayor escaparate de productos y especialidades típicas de la región en pleno centro de la ciudad y una oportunidad para conocer la vida local a pie de calle. Además, desde que se reformó, cuenta con gastrobares y una terraza panorámica.

Todos los primeros sábados del mes los comerciantes del Casco Medieval salen a la calle para exponer sus productos. En este mercado también se realizan diferentes actividades que vinculan el comercio, la enogastronomía y la cultura.

Durante el cuarto fin de semana de septiembre, las calles y plazas del Casco Medieval se transforman para recrear una época en la que la capital alavesa era una encrucijada entre el Norte y el Sur.  La gastronomía de otras culturas, los productos locales y los espectáculos son protagonistas de una de las principales citas de la ciudad.

Hay otros mercados semanales de productos hortícolas y de alimentación artesanal (Simón Bolívar, Santa Bárbara, Lakua-Arriaga). También está el Mercado Agrícola Transparente (marzo y septiembre), sin olvidar la tradicional romería de Olárizu.

Among the tourist attractions that the capital offers, you will find visits on-site to the Tower of San Vicente and to the Escoriaza-Esquibel Palace; guided tours in the old quarters as “The Heart of the Almond” which includes a visit to the city wall or Vitoria “Clergy and Gentlemen” with access to the Santa Maria Cathedral.

The city also invites youngsters to enjoy sightseeing the the old quarters with visits specifically programmed for them, especially for the public of between 6 and 12 years old who may be accompanied by 2 adults.
